Black Women in Academia (BWA): Supporting, Healing, and Empowering is a University of Pittsburgh Seed Project-funded study designed in order to better understand the challenges black undergraduate women face who have been victims to sexual misconduct. In a study conducted in 2019 it was stated that 27% of Black undergraduate women experienced sexual assault or touching that involved physical force or the inability to consent.
