REC Database: A dynamic and comprehensive hub of curated resources committed to fostering racial equity and justice across communities worldwide.

Leveraging Data to Cultivate Equity on a Global Scale

The Racial Equity Consciousness Database (RECD) is a centralized platform that provides structured resources, research, and best practices to empower communities and organizations in advancing racial equity and addressing systemic racism.

The Racial Equity Consciousness Database (RECD) initiative aims to address systemic racism by providing a comprehensive platform for accessing resources dedicated to advancing racial equity. This database supports the development of a vision-rich, globally comprehensive, process-oriented, accessible approach to advancing racial equity internationally. Racial equity is a process of eliminating racial disparities and improving outcomes for everyone and is an intentional and continual practice of changing policies, practices, systems, and structures by prioritizing measurable change in the lives of people of color.

The overarching goal of RECD Database is to provide communities with the resources necessary to empower them to realize a racially inclusive and equitable society.

By systematically categorizing and organizing racial equity resources, RECD Database seeks to empower communities to confront systemic racism effectively.

RECD Platform

Community of global thinkers

The database initiative combats systemic racism and promotes racial equity through a comprehensive global database. Designed with a human-centered approach, this platform removes barriers to accessing essential resources. Recognizing the global impact of systemic racism, RECD collaborates with institutions like the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent (UNPFPAD) to ensure worldwide accessibility.

Aligned with the UN’s 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), RECD identifies and assesses resources in Pittsburgh and beyond, advancing the commitment to “Leaving No One Behind.” By fostering collaboration and raising awareness, the initiative empowers communities, institutions, and policymakers to drive meaningful change.
