“The BE STEM Center will build the first national alliance of precollege STEM programs to increase college enrollment for minoritized students.”

It also aims to “build a local network to support University of Pittsburgh STEM students” and “support University faculty and staff in broadening participation efforts and funding applications.” Specifically, this means that BE STEM will leverage resources to support “racially and ethnically underrepresented students” while also helping to connect funding resources with faculty who are working on projects that are “working to improve issues around equity and access in information.”
