This experiential course will simulate meetings of healthcare organization boards of directors and medical executive committees. Each class meeting will include agendas, supporting materials, facilitated discussion, and simulated decision-making. Topics will include organizational structures, governance design principles, leadership responsibilities, governance documents/instruments, community collaboration, confidentiality, AI and other healthcare technologies, quality and performance metrics, compliance, fiscal oversight, human resources, enterprise risk management, quality control, discrimination and healthcare disparities, tax-exempt organizations, and professional scope of practice.
