This book, “Workers on Arrival”, tells the story of the Black working class in America over the past 400 years. It challenges the way they are often portrayed in the media and public policy discussions, arguing that they have been essential contributors to American society but have faced repeated setbacks. Through the stories of individual Black workers, the book explores their experiences in slavery, the industrial age, and the modern era. It aims to give a more complete understanding of America’s economic and social history, and the challenges facing Black communities today.
